The voices of past Orange people who shaped our town will be heard, portrayed by actors from the Orange Players. The script was researched and written by Pat Miller and Trish O’Leary Treat, drawing on many historical sources, including Mary Woodruff’s History of Orange. Harry Jones’ and Marvin Jamron’s Images of Orange, various Sesquicentennial publications and other documents as well information supplied by Ginny Reinhard, President of the Orange Historical Society.

Audiences will hear recollections and reminiscenceof men and women who in past years lived and worked in Orange--husbands, wives, farmers, storekeepers, teachers, and entrepreneurs. There is even a tale of murder! The presentation of this cast of characters from the past will be presented among the gravestones in the Orange Cemetery on Orange Center Road.

The play was written by Pat Miller and Trish O’Leary . The cast of Grave Matters—Early Voices includes Jan Daddona.  Jaqueline Koral, Linda Martin, John Miller, David Ortoleva, and Paul Templeton.   Incidental music was selected and will be performed by Betsy Anderson Malone. The performance will be directed by Pat Miller.

The public is invited to this free presentation. No tickets or reservations are required. Celebrate the Orange Bicentennial by meeting some early citizens who helped build our town. Come hear their voices, as they tell their tales of life in Orange in years gone by. See you at the cemetery for an afternoon presentation of Orange historical memories!
