Services provided by the Public Works Department include the Transfer Station, highway and town buildings maintenance, curbside and residential recycling, hazardous wastes disposal, storm drainage, evictions, special permits, trash removal for municipal buildings, engineering, and assistance to all other Town departments, sewer maintenance for commercial/industrial areas, reservations for High Plains Community Center use, AP and AR for all Town required services for buildings, roads, sewers, and bridges, and Tree Warden services. Services provided include roadway pavement and drainage maintenance, roadside tree pruning and grass cutting, snow and ice removal, traffic light maintenance, town-owned vehicles' maintenance, assisting other departments with moving of heavy equipment and miscellaneous undertakings as required by the Director.
Please be advised as follows:
Vehicles parked in the road that impede the snow and ice removal activities will be tagged and removed at the owner's expense.
Snow removal around mailboxes is the responsibility of the property owner.
Deposit of snow plowed by private contractors from driveways onto the roadways is not permitted.
Mailboxes damaged by the actual striking of the plow blade will be repaired by the Town. Mailboxes damaged by the snow from the the plow are the responsibility of the property owner.
Blowing of leaves onto roadways is not permitted.
